WHEELER COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
On Tuesday, September 17th, at 5:30 PM the Wheeler County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing in the conference room of the Jeanne E. Burch Building, 401 Fourth St., Fossil, Or 97830 in order to consider the following:
Proposed amendments to the Wheeler County Zoning Ordinance. The primary purpose of these amendments is to maintain Wheeler County Zoning Ordinance compliance with applicable Oregon Revised Statutes and to add new allowable uses in resource zones (EFU and ETU).
A Request for Variance from the requirements of the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance (FPDO) NO. 89-01. The request was submitted by Rock’n A LLC, landowner of record of the property described as tax lot 102 in Township 9 South Range 24 East, to allow the construction of a barn within Special Flood Hazard Area Zone A using wet floodproofing techniques. The criteria for review are set forth by FPDO Section 4.4-2.
The proposed amendments and Flood Plain Development Permit application are available for public review in the Planning Department office located in the Wheeler County Courthouse at 701 Adams St., Fossil, OR 97830. The associated Staff Reports will also be available at the same location 7 days prior to the public hearing.

Land use and zoning permits for activities on all lands outside the Urban Growth Boundary of the three Cities: Partitioning; Property Line Adjustments; Conditional and Permitted Use Permits, Ag Exempt Permits; GIS mapping services; Wild and Scenic Waterways and Flood Zone Determination; Comprehensive planning and development; Rural Addressing.
The Planning Commission meets as needed. The meetings are held in the Jeanne E. Burch Family Services Building located at 401 Fourth Street; Fossil, OR, unless otherwise published in the newspaper of record.
