Qualifications
All candidates must be US citizens and registered voters
All positions are non-partisan
​
Assessor -
Must be 18 years of age or older
Resident of the county one year prior to election (ORS 204.016)
Term of office is four (4) years (ORS 204.010)
Must be a registered appraiser or an appraiser trainee
Must have two (2) years accounting experience or two (2) years employment in an appraiser's office
Must be certified to be eligible by the Oregon Department of Revenue (ORS 204.016(4))
In the case of a vacancy, the County governing body appoints a qualified person to serve until a successor is elected (ORS 236.210)

Clerk -
Must be 18 years of age or older
Resident of the county one prior to election(ORS 204.016)
Term of office is four (4) years (ORS 204.010)

Treasurer -
Must be 18 years of age or older

Sheriff -
Must be 21 years of age or older
Resident of the county one prior to election(ORS 204.016)

Proof of certification or eligibility for certification by the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training must be provided to the Elections Officer no later than the 61st day prior to the election. Exceptions may apply (ORS 206.015(3))

Justice of the Peace -
Must be 18 years of age or older
Resident of the state at least three (3) years
Residence or office in the county at least one (1) year prior to appointment or becoming a candidate (ORS 51.240)
Term of office is six (6) years; must retire at end of calendar year in which the judge attains the age of 75
If not a member of the Oregon State Bar, must take 30 hours of continuing education every two (2) calendar years (ORS 51.245)

County Commissioner -
Must be 18 years of age or older

County Judge -
Must be 18 years of age or older

County Surveyor -
Must be a certified professional land surveyor
Must meet the requirements of ORS 672.126 and ORS 672.255
Term of office is four (4) years
